What I’ve been wearing October ‘26
Lately I've been trying to have more variety in my sillhouettes. I'm usually wearing my gray wide pants with whatever button up, which I'm very comfortable with but in the end I yearn for more variety in my silhouettes. It doesn't satisfy my thirst which is always growing, no outfit is good enough. This feeling of not dressing well enough has only grown the past couple of weeks, and I'm still looking for a way to combat it. I've reduced my colors to focus on shapes, rather than shades. Being able to wear the skirt I've sewn myself made me really happy. It creates a quite pillar like silhouette. The stiff cotton twill makes it keep its straight shape well and the fold in the front adds variety and more depth, together with the fold over waistband. Another thing I've been enjoying are my dropcrotch trousers. It's a rather "odd" pair of pants, I can't deny that. I get stares, but I don't care at all. It creates a silhouette I still can't get over, which is most noticable when walking (the moving fabric between the legs creating an awesome triangular kind of shape, which unfortunately I can't get a picture of). I've also decided to wear my blazer more, which seems counterintuitive when trying to create more unique silhouettes. It does not obscure the body at all to create a fun shape, but rather emphasizes the shape the torso has. The padded shoulders usually were something that made me insecure and unhappy. I feel best when looking androgynous and the padded shoulders only make the shoulders bigger, manlier, which doesn't help because my shoulders are big enough. Luckily I've come to accept it, it's a waste not to wear such a pretty blazer, I just try to make sure the styling isn't too traditional.
